When all else fails, read the directions....that usually helps clear things up....or find a tutorial...like i did....i still can't find a cool signiture....whatever...

7 hours is a long time..... O___O;
try locking your layer transparency, that way you won't color outside the lines, its also much easier to keep the shading and hilight on the same layer as your base color. XD just some tips........
but i have to say that doing that kind of lineart on ps is awsome >;3
